SILVER POOLS is a post-punk duo from Toronto, Canada. The group combines the talents of video director Adrienne McLaren and music producer / composer Todd Macdonald (The Winks, Norvaiza). Silver Pools released their sophomore album Chroma, via new imprint Modern Laundry Recording Club. Chroma is Silver Pools’ first full-length since their 2016 debut, Memoirs Of An Oblong Sphere.
“A low‐key but uplifting symphony of magical beats, electronic signals, subtle trip‐hop tones and elastic sonic layers that expand and contract underwater. Chill‐out vocals coming from an ocean cave, a simple but addictive bassline, and the delicate mandolin complete its distinctive, avant‐garde sonic‐scape.” — Discorder Magazine (Memoirs of an Oblong Sphere)
FUNERAL LAKES is Chris Hemer (he/him) and Sam Mishos (she/her). They are currently based out of Kingston, Ontario. Their most recent EP, Redeemer, was self-recorded at the duo’s home in Kingston during the winter months of 2021.
Redeemer is a collection of songs that does not neatly fit into a single genre. It explores the meanings of faith and justice, interrogating the tension between them. Grappling with memory and legacy, it is a reflection on choosing what to hold onto and what to let go of. Redeemer asks the questions: Who gets to grant forgiveness? And what does it mean to be irredeemable?

DUSTIN GOOD Multi-instrumentalist and producer Dustin Good will be sharing explorations and improvisations in an electronic playground, with ambiences and spontaneous melodies emerging from synthesizers, looping, and processing. Dustin also grew up in Kingston and played his first ever show many moons ago in our very hotel. We’re so glad to have him on this bill! Check his stuff out here:
