This show features an eclectic group of musicians put together by bassist Oscar Evans, including Zachary Nevins on trombone, Spencer Evans on clarinet, and Rich Bannard on drums. Oscar’s setlist is a reflection of being hugely inspired by Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk, Lester Bowie and Mose Allison, and fuses free jazz elements with New Orleans/gospel jazz. This four-piece ensemble will also be interpreting some of Oscar’s original music that can be heard on some of his latest recordings.

Oscar consistently pushes his own boundaries to create interesting new music. In 2026 he will release two full-length records: one consisting of free jazz, and the other of original compositions. You can find more information at his website oscarevans.com.
