This afternoon in the Piano Room, a number of local artists will be performing five hours of continuous drone music in celebration of International Drone Day, an annual celebration of drone, community, and experimental sounds to awaken tiny vibrations in our skin and between all our bones.
Drone music, or simply Drone, is a minimalist genre that emphasizes the use of sustained sounds, notes, or tone clusters – called drones. It is typically characterized by like the audio programs with relatively slight harmonica variations throughout each piece.
This event, and drone music in general, offers an excellent opportunity to practice deep listening, mindfulness, and meditation. Please join us.
