Cliff Cardinal is a polarizing, Indigenous writer and performer known for his black humour and compassionate poeticism and for winning the Governor General’s award for The Land Acknowledgement or As You Like It. His first three albums with his band, The Sky-Larks have all made tons of micropennies off spotify. Single, Suicidal Valentine reached #6 on the Indigenous Music Countdown. Y2K did pretty good on satellite radio. (Probably on the soundtrack of somebody’s life out there.) The song Christmas in Kingston has been performed by a couple of hot-shot Canadian artists who will go unnamed but they’re Corin Raymond and Hawksley Workman- who Cliff Performed with at the Danforth Music Hall.
Nick Shrubsole is a Florida-based singer/songwriter who plays a brand of folk that draws on his roots as the former lead singer of Canadian punk band Broadcast Zero. Shrubsole is touring his debut solo album, Destroy Yourself With Me.
